Reduced Fat Spinach Dip

This healthier version of Spinach Dip will provide the rich, gooey flavor that we all love with 1/2 the fat and less calories.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 package frozen chopped spinach
  • 1 8oz. package reduced fat vegetable cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 3 green onions chopped
  • 2-3 slices Low Sodium Turkey Bacon
  • 3 dashes Liquid Aminos (or you can use Worcestershire sauce)
  • 3/4 cup shredded Fat Free Mozarella
  • 2 Tsp garlic & herb Mrs. Dash seasoning
  • 1 Tsp black pepper
  • Flatout Flatbread toasted and sliced (2 wraps)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place frozen spinach in a large pot on medium heat, cook until thawed.
  2. In the same pot, whisk in yogurt and cream cheese until melted, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add Liquid Aminos (or Wocestershire), 3/4 cup Mozarella, seasoning and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Turn to low heat and let set. Continue to stir occasionally to avoid burning at the bottom of pan.
  5. Cook Turkey Bacon according to package either in a skillet or in the microwave. I like to cook until crispy for this so I can crumble them in to the dip. Otherwise, you will have to chop the bacon.
  6. Turn oven to 400. While dip is simmering, spray a cooking sheet with non stick cooking spray and place wraps on sheet and place in the oven to crisp ~5 mins each side.  You can brush a small amount of olive oil over wraps to help crisp. You can also spray a large skillet with non stick cooking spray and crisp on the oven at medium high heat continuously turning the wraps. Once they are at desired crispness, cut in quarter pieces.
